Cardi B cancels summer performances as she struggles with pregnancy

Cardi B has cancelled a string of summer performances as her pregnancy has left her "barely able to breathe".

The 25-year-old star, who is currently expecting her first child with her Migos star fiance Offset, took to Instagram on Thursday (26Apr18) to share a video in which she explained that her performance at Broccoli City Festival in Washington D.C. this weekend will be her last for a while.

"I wanted to make it clear and everything the Broccoli Fest will be my last performance... for um.. a little while... and everything," she said in the video. "Because you know... shorty keep growing and I be looking like I be moving and everything but in reality... a b**ch can barely breathe."

Cardi's announcement means she'll be missing previously scheduled dates in Texas and Florida, as well as Norway and Ireland. She will also forego her performance at the Panorama Music Festival in New York this July.

"I just want to let ya all know that Broccoli fest will be my last performance and thank ya all, I love ya all motherf**kers (sic)," the Bodak Yellow star continued. "And make sure you keep checking out my album Invasion of Privacy."

She also revealed she was struggling after eating "six chicken wings", adding: "This b**ch can barely breathe right now."

Cardi concluded her video by promising she'll be back on the road to support Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic Tour in September.

"I want to thank ya all for understanding (sic). I'll be back for the Bruno Mars tour and everything," she smiled.

The news is likely to come as a surprise to Cardi's fans, who have praised her for continuing with her energetic performances despite being pregnant. She recently made her debut at the Coachella music festival and wowed the crowd with a routine which saw her dancing and twerking throughout.
